Indosat Ooredoo Booked Outstanding Performance in the 1st Quarter of 2021 Net Profit of Rp172 Billion, 12.6% Revenue Growth

Indosat Ooredoo has recorded an outstanding financial performance in the first quarter of 2021, maintaining the growth momentum of the previous year.  Indosat Ooredoo's total revenue grew by 12.6% YoY to Rp7.3 trillion.  Cellular revenue increased by 12.5% ​​YoY to Rp6 trillion.  The enterprise business seems to have recovered in the first quarter of 2021 with an enterprise revenue growth (YoY) of 17.1% to Rp1.3 trillion.

EBITDA increased 42.5% YoY, reaching IDR3.4 trillion.  This was due to a combination of top line growth and cost efficiency which contributed to EBITDA margin growth of + 9.7pp YoY reaching 46.2% in the first quarter of 2021, the highest in the last seven quarters.  Indosat Ooredoo also posted a net profit of Rp172 billion, a rapid increase of Rp778 billion compared to the first quarter of 2020.

Indosat Ooredoo also recorded a healthy customer base with 60 million loyal customers, growing 7% YoY.  Average revenue per subscriber (ARPU) increased 11% YoY to Rp32.7 thousand, driven by significant data traffic growth, up 46% over the same period the previous year.

In the 1st quarter of 2021, Indosat Ooredoo announced the signing of a Sell and Lease Back agreement with PT EPID Menara Asset Co (“Edge Point Indonesia”) for more than 4,200 telecommunication towers.

The transaction is valued at IDR 11 trillion and will provide capital to build Indosat Ooredoo's solid growth momentum through further development of its network performance and the launch of new innovative digital solutions to enhance the customer experience.
